Badgers v Gloucester Sat. 19th March 2011The game started at a quick pace proving that both teams had some good talent. There were several early-on chances. However, we were playing nice wide hockey giving us the edge over Gloucester. Consequently, Sam Woods slotted a goal in, in the bottom corner after a good shot was saved from Alex Diesel. Unfortunately we didn’t have goal keeper, so we had Chris Bolton as a stand-in kicking player; who played very well and as a coach got to see us play from a different perspective.
Match Report Badgers v Sherbourne 12/5/2010Cheltenham met Sherbourne on a cloudy Saturday at Bourton Leisure Centre. Cheltenham got off to a shaky start with Sherbourne having the majority of the possession. However, Benji Grew dribbled through their defence to score the first goal of the match. Sherbourne were quick to respond, and put our defence under strong pressure. A very good ball to their centre forward equalised the scores, and goalkeeper Saumil Hiremath made several great saves. Cheltenham picked up their play, and started to attack. After several minutes of hard work, we were rewarded with a brilliant goal from Ollie Cox.
Match Report Badgers v Stroud 05/03/2011Cheltenham Badgers 2 – Stroud Badgers 0 On Saturday, the 6th of March, a young badger’s team met an equally young Stroud side with apparently a 10 year old playing for them in the forwards, but with an adult playing in defence.

U10 Girls Tournaments 2011The U10 girls have had mixed fortunes in their two post-Christmas tournaments. After the cancellation of the December fixture it was good to be able to play in January, despite the weather, which started off fine and gradually got wetter. Two teams were entered and, although it had been hoped they were evenly matched, they fared vary differently. Cheltenham A drew 0-0 with Dursley and East Glos 2 but lost 2-0 to Worcester, Yate and East Glos 1.
Badgers vs LansdownThe team for Saturday included Luke Curtis , Max Holland, Tom Gabbott, Tom Hage, Ben Cupper, Lawrie Hage, Matt Woods, Rich Owen, Tom Mitchener, Alex Diesel, Ollie Cox, George Wilshaw,. We gathered on a very blustery Saturday morning for the match against local team, Lansdown. The team started well with Tom Hage scoring the opening goal, closely followed by a goal for Ollie Cox on his Badges debut. A fantastic performance from Rich Owen saw, in the 15 minutes he played for, 2 goals and 1 assist, Rich could not play the whole game as he had a later fixture.

Match Report: Chelt Badgers V Cirencester Badgers 8/1/2011Feelings before the match were all very high spirited – with everyone eager to get playing Cirencester our unbeaten rivals. After a brisk jog round the pitch with some stretches, we proceeded to get into pairs and pass the ball around just to get our eye in. The whistle blew for the game to start. Within the first 5 minutes of the game, everyone realised that Cirencester would put up a challenge. Both teams came very close to scoring and there were some very strong breaks but as the whistle blew for half time, there was a very equal and fair 0-0 score.
