Firstly, a big thank you to Karen Langridge for running the Cougars and to Alice Hunte for volunteering to play in goal. We were lucky to have 2 subs so the girls were able to be flexible and all played at least half of each match. A brief summary of our games:
v Swindon 0 – 1. The score does not reflect the fact the team pushed forward and dominated the game, with Abigail Langridge and Ellie Shea controlling the midfield. We were unfortunate to concede a goal.
v East Glos B 0 – 2. This match was fought against a strong side. Alice Hunte made some great saves and clearances with help from Sophie Lennon in defence.
v Pumas 1 – 0. The girls were rewarded for their hard work in the earlier games with a narrow victory against the Pumas. The goal came after an excellent drive by Mia Betts that was expertly followed up by Sophie Rogers.
v Cirencester B 0 – 0. We were under pressure for long periods with Meggie Warren battling hard in defence. It was a hard earned draw.
v Gloucester B 1 – 0. We created several chances with some good team play and excellent passing by Bronwen Taylor in midfield. Finally we created an opening for Millie Broom to coolly score the only goal of the game.
