Match Report Badgers v Sherbourne 12/5/2010Cheltenham met Sherbourne on a cloudy Saturday at Bourton Leisure Centre. Cheltenham got off to a shaky start with Sherbourne having the majority of the possession. However, Benji Grew dribbled through their defence to score the first goal of the match. Sherbourne were quick to respond, and put our defence under strong pressure. A very good ball to their centre forward equalised the scores, and goalkeeper Saumil Hiremath made several great saves. Cheltenham picked up their play, and started to attack. After several minutes of hard work, we were rewarded with a brilliant goal from Ollie Cox. At half time, the score stood at 2-1 to Cheltenham. Our hockey improved enormously in the second half, with great running from Ben Cupper and Sam woods, and solid defending from Tom Gabbott. Alex Diesel scored the first goal of the second half from the left wing, which put us 2 goals ahead. This was quickly followed by two narrow misses from Ollie Cox. The game finished 3-1 to Cheltenham. Sam Woods was man of the match. Calum Bradshaw - Match Captain
